Compression and compatibility a testament to Lumenera’s custom camera capabilities

Vision 2009, Stuttgart, Germany – November 2, 2009 – Lumenera Corporation, www.lumenera.com, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions today announced the release of a new Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) industrial camera line designed for applications requiring increased bandwidth, faster sensors with higher data throughput, and longer cable lengths.

This initial Lg family of cameras consists of 2 and 11 megapixel cameras, both based on high quality CCD sensors with electronic global shutters. The Lg235 and Lg11059 are specifically designed for industrial applications with low-light conditions where high dynamic range is required, and provide excellent sensitivity with high fidelity color reproduction. The Lg235 and Lg11059 are GigE Vision Interface Compliant, providing a compact form factor that is ideal for tight space constraints. Both cameras are available in color or monochrome and feature a Hirose connector for control of peripherals and synchronization of lighting.

The 2 megapixel Lg235 features a 1/1/8” sensor and streams video at 25 fps at full resolution, while the Lg11059 with a 43mm diagonal sensor offers 5 fps at full 4008 x 2672 resolution. Other highlights of the Lg11059 include a Canon bayonet-style mount with auto focus and auto iris control. Both camera models offers a Software Developers Kit (SDK) compatible with the existing LuCam USB SDK, allowing existing applications built with LuCam API to be fully compatible and easily integrated.

Replace multiple lower resolution cameras with a single Lw16059

Vision 2009, Stuttgart, Germany – November 2, 2009 – Lumenera Corporation, www.lumenera.com, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions today announced the launch of the new Lw16059 16 megapixel camera designed for applications requiring a large field of view, high dynamic range, and extremely high sensitivity.

With 4872 x 3248 resolution, large dynamic range with up to 65dB, and a selectable 8 or 12-bit output, this camera series is ideal for challenging applications in which large fields of view, short exposure times, and high contrast capabilities are required. Featuring a frame rate of 2fps at full resolution, bursting up to 3fps, a single Lw16059 can be implemented in a system where several cameras were previously required and produce the same image quality.

Lw110//Lw115 megapixel cameras specifically designed for industrial applications

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – October 26, 2009 – Lumenera Corporation, www.lumenera.com, Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions today announced the release of a new industrial color camera line designed for applications requiring a high resolution and modestly priced imaging component.

This new USB 2.0 camera series features 1280x1024 resolution and on-board processing to deliver outstanding image detail, auto white balance, auto exposure and lower fixed pattern noise. The Lw110 and Lw115 offer a 1.3 megapixel color image sensor running at up to 60 fps. As with all of Lumenera’s USB offerings, these cameras include a complete Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) to quickly integrate the camera’s function into OEM applications. Stable and reliable drivers allow users to run multiple cameras on a single PC or other USB devices.

Available enclosed (Lw115) or board-level (Lw110) to allow for either off-the-shelf purchasing or OEM customization capabilities, these cameras are an ideal substitute for the now obsolete Lu170/Lu175 camera series. The Lw110 and Lw115 provide the flexibility needed to satisfy a wide variety of applications requiring high resolution details, great color representation and modest cost.

Lm085 ultra-wide dynamic range functionality equivalent to high-end CCD

Ottawa, Canada – Monday, March 31, 2008– Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, today announced the release of the Lm085, its newest addition to the Lm family of small form factor cameras. The Lm085 mini USB 2.0 camera is well suited for challenging industrial applications with uncontrolled lighting conditions, tight space constraints, and those requiring industrial locking connectors.

Built over a wide VGA CMOS sensor with 752 x 480 resolution, this camera features a small form factor measuring 44x44x56mm, robust and durable enclosure, and high sensitivity. An ultra-wide dynamic range of up to 100dB provides excellent images in high light contrast conditions where blooming in the sensor would typically washout critical areas. Additional features include an electronic global shutter for image capture of fast motion events with no smear effect, fast frame rates for increased throughput, and an adjustable C or CS-mount to compensate for lens back focus tolerances. As with other Lm cameras, the Lm085 includes on-board image processing, industrial locking USB and GPI/O connectors, and 8 mounting holes. Both color and monochrome product models are fully supported by Lumenera Software Developer’s Kit with an application programming interface compatible with C++ and Visual Basic.
