LUMENERA CORPORATION REPORTS SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN FIRST QUARTER REVENUE AND EARNINGS

Continued focus on strategic plans results in solid business performance

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – May 12, 2008 - Lumenera Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, today reported that it again achieved significant growth in the recently-closed fiscal quarter, ending March 31, 2008.

At a time when the Canadian dollar is near an all time high, Lumenera grew first quarter revenue by 23.6%, while earnings jumped 109% with margins expanding by 840 basis points. Strategic steps to achieving this success included the signing of large global partners in the commercial security sectors, continued orders from key OEMs, and a significant increase in new customers across all three imaging divisions. The launch of four new products this past quarter, including a 32 megapixel scientific pixel shifting camera, and two megapixel intelligent camera models with on board video analytics, have also contributed to the company’s forward momentum.
