Lumenera Wins Technology Company of the Year Award

Award recognizes Company’s sound business fundamentals, community involvement, and increased profitability

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - April 20, 2006 - Lumenera Corporation, a leading manufacturer and developer of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions for scientific, industrial and security markets, today announced it was named the OCRI Technology Company of the Year for 2006. The award was presented at the 11^th Annual OCRI Awards Ceremony held last night at Ottawa's Westin Hotel.

Lumenera was nominated by members of the Ottawa business community, and was selected as a top-three finalist this past February along with SMART Technologies and International Datacasting Corporation. Out of 1800 local companies, the Society of Collaborative Opportunities and Advancement of Professionals (SCOAP) selected Lumenera as the company that best contributes to the vitality of Ottawa's technology sector, while demonstrating integrity and business leadership.

Over the past 4 years, Lumenera has been diligent in taking innovative products to market based on sound business principles, backed by a solid infrastructure and a strong commitment to customer service. Constantly striving to meet customer and industry demands for its products, has resulted in a 100% increase in staff and 3X office and manufacturing space, along with 75% revenue growth in fiscal 2005.
